Times are tough for almost all businesses right now. But they are particularly hard for small- and medium-sized operations that just don’t have a huge amount of cash on hand to survive weeks — or months — of closure.
You’ve come up with ways to offer your products or services without in-person contact. And you’d love to advertise them. But with sales drying up, you’re not exactly flush with money to finance an online marketing blitz.
Enter Google.
As part of their effort to offer support during the pandemic, they are giving SMBs worldwide $340 million in Google Ads credits that can be used until the end of 2020 on any Google Ads platform.
Who gets these credits?
According to Google, they will go to “SMBs who have been active advertisers since the beginning of 2019.”
What do you need to do to get these credits?
Seemingly, nothing. Again, per Google: “SMBs…will see a credit notification appear in their Google Ads account in the coming months.” We’ll be keeping an eye out for when those credits appear and post a notification on our site and our social media.
How long will the credits be good for?
Until the end of 2020. Literally December 31, 2020.
Where can SMBs use the credits?
Anywhere on the Google Ads platform. Google says this includes “Search, Display, and YouTube as well as all campaign types.”
How do I know if I’m going to get credits or not?
SMBs with advertiser accounts should start getting notifications over the next few months regarding Google Ads credits. If you’d like to get the information straight from the source, you can check out their page on the matter here.
These Google Ads credits have the potential to be incredibly valuable for businesses that are struggling right now. But you also don’t want to just market yourself blindly. Before you start advertising, think about what people need right now in this time of social distancing and how your business can give it to them.
